2017 ARRL Field Day

The 2017 ARRL Field Day event has ended. We had great weather, a good turn out of Club members, and lots of visitors. You couldn't ask for a better time. Once the bands opened, the 40 and 80 meter inverted-V antennas and the 20 meter beam 40 feet off the ground all were great!

This year's Field Day was held at Chatham University's Eden Hall Farm campus. We would like to thank them for allowing us to use their facility. They know we use their flag pole for our 80 meter antenna but don't really understand why. They are okay with that anyway.

The Club would like to thank Al Houston, N2MA, as the Field Day Chairperson. We need to thank Jim Hartman, KC3AZV, and Eric Fowler, WV3E, for their hard work on getting both trailers ready for this event. We need to thank Tim Colbert, K3HX, for bringing his 6 meter beam and tower.

I would like to thank Bob Morris (K2RK), Al Houston (N2MA), and Bob Mente (NU3Q), who provided the photos used on this website.

K3HX put a 6 meter beam on the top of a 20 foot tower. It was supported by his van.

The flag pole is 73 feet tall. The 80 meter inverted-V was lifted to the top.
